Arlene Hickam one of humanity’s most graceful members, faithfully west to heaven on Saturday morning, December 1, 2018 at age 92. She was born October 10, 1926 on a small, cotton share-cropping farm outside Knoble, Ar. Alongside her 7 siblings. Arlene worked for 28 years, until 2004 when her body no longer allowed it, at the coffee shop St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City. Similarly, she was a active member of the Chouteau Twp. Senior Citizens Club (Jolly Quilters Member), until no longer able to line dance, and the Woman’s Auxiliary. Arlene most enjoyed card and board games around the dinner table after preparing a lovingly made, absolutely delicious meal for as many of her family and friends that could make it. Even in her advanced age, she would laugh all the way in her successful victory in dominoes. She spent her lifetime teaching humility, respect, service, work-ethic, integrity, good humor, and kindness to her children and grandchildren, because she wanted to leave the earth with gifts she knew would work to leave it even better than when she found it. The matriarch passed as gracefully as she lived, of old age and at home, surrounded by her loving children and visited by her closest family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde L. and Judy nee Alphin Eaton

Five of her siblings, her first husband Guy Griffin and second husband Thomas Hickman. Arlene is survived by two children K. Diane Kramer of Pontoon Beach and Jeffrey and his wife Melissa” Missy” (Colbert) Hickam of Livonia Mi.  Grandchildren Renee Kramer, Joe Kramer, Tommy Hickam and Courtney Kramer. Brother Roy Eaton.

 Thomas Saksa Funeral Home 11am till 1 pm service time.

Burial St. John Cemetery Nameoki Rd. Granite City, Il. Will follow.
