Forrest “Dude” P. Friend

Forrest “Dude” P. Friend 89 of Madison  passed Sunday September 27, 2020 at Gateway Regional Hospital.  The Granite City native born February 27, 1931 son of the late Owen and Edna Mae nee Wingerter Friend.

Survived by his wife Geraldine “Gerry” (Kula) Friend. They were married April 26, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Madison.
Also surviving are his daughter Donise (Duane) Georgeff of Edwardsville  and son Thomas Friend of Connecticut. Grandsons Eric (Melissa) Georgeff and their daughter Harper of St. Louis, Mo. Cory Georgeff of Edwardsville.  Sister Ilene Willis of O’Fallon.

Preceded by his brother Owen Friend.

Delivery man for 30 years Dolly Madison Cakes.  Army medic in Korea. Member AMVETS, St. Mary’s Boosters and St. Stanislaus Lodge 1004 in Madison.  Inducted into Illinois Sports Hall of Fame for being part of Polish Hall’s “World Champion Soft Ball” Team.

 Loved to play ball was always a loyal Cardinal fan.
