George William Talley

George William Talley, 82, of Moro, Illinois was born on December 16, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. He passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Cedarhurst Memory Care Facility in Granite City, Illinois.

Mr. Talley worked for Granite City Steel for 50 years. He worked as a millwright and also served in the army as a tank commander. He also served as the president of the JC Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Talley and his parents Walter and Mary Nell Talley. Surviving are his children William W (Mary Kay) Talley of Maryville, Illinois, John (Tiffany) Patterson of Bethalto, Illinois, Mercey (Jessica Newell) Bishop of Chapin, Illinois, Samantha Talley, and George A (Leisha) Talley of Granite City, Illinois. He was a proud father and grandpa. He had many grandchildren that he loved.

Visitation: Friends and family may come from 10am to 12pm Saturday June 22, 2024 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City, Illinois.

Memorial: Memorial services will be held at 12pm on Saturday June 22, 2024 at the funeral home.
