James McClure

James J. "Jim" McClure, 67, of Granite City, Ill., born March 30, 1949 in Granite City, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, Ill.

He served in the U.S. Army for 21 ˝ years, rank E7.He was a member of the Monday & Wednesday Pool League at Ken's Lounge in Granite City.

He worked as a shipper for Missouri Pipe & Fitting in St. Louis for 11 years.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Blythe and Genevieve Catherin, nee Affolter, McClure; brothers, Corkey Ruff, George McClure, and Herbert McClure; and sisters, Edna Noud and Linda Noud.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta M., nee Brady, McClure, whom he married Nov. 15, 1985 in Edwardsville; daughter, Christy (Richard) Meridith of Granite City; sons, James A. (Leann) McClure, of New Zealand; Joseph W. (Dawn) McClure of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jesse J. McClure of Granite City; sisters, Ann (John) Pelizari of Granite City and Mary Katherin Carnelison, of Herman, Mo.; three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Devid Denton officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
