Lloyd Duane Judge
Lloyd Duane Judge, 93, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Aperion Hidden Lakes in St. Louis. He was born on September 6, 1924, in Albion, Illinois, the son of the late Russel and Maymie Bell. He married the former Louis Muriel “Polly” Heath on December 23, 1945, in Alton, and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2017. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law: George and Linda Judge of Springfield, Illinois, Jeffrey and Kendra Judge of Granite City, five grandchildren: James Jebediah and Kelley Judge, Jesse Lee Judge, Chad Michael and Angela Judge, Megan and Mike Mcelvain, Natalie and Keith Simon, three step grandchildren: Amanda Simon and her husband: Tim, Stephanie Renee Cuvar, Michael John Cuvar, thirteen great grandchildren, and one sister: Ruth Klutzbier of Iowa.
Lloyd was formerly employed at National Lead Company where he worked for thirty – three years as a shipping clerk prior to it becoming Tara Corp where he worked for ten years prior to his retirement. Lloyd attended the Illinois School for the Deaf and was inducted to their Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. He was a very accomplished athlete and tried out for the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns. He attended Grace Baptist Church in Granite City.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Warren Judge and Billy Judge, and one sister: Velma Simmons.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 9am until time of funeral services at 11am on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
