In Loving Memory of
Marvin E. Miller

Marvin E. Miller, age 94, of Edwardsville, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Edwardsville.

He was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Edward and Alma Schreihart Miller.

He married Jean Marie Piacentine on April 21, 1945, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2015.
He is survived by his children: Kerry (Jim) Shaul of Edwardsville, Kristine (Ken) Holcomb of San Diego, David (Carol) Miller of Crystal Lake and Michael (Lori) Miller of College Grove, Tenn.; his grandchildren: Nellie Shaul and Greg Shaul, Monica Holcomb, Alex Holcomb and Ryan, Taylor, Garrett, Jason and Rachel Miller and one brother: Duane (Lillian) Miller of Dousman, Wis.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Floyd Miller.

Mr. Miller was a naval aviator, actively serving in World War II. He was a reserve officer in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, retiring in July, 1982. He was a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus. He worked as a senior contract manager for the Miller Brewery for 35 years, retiring in 1990.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Monday at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Bergbauer officiating.

Interment will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cedarhurst of Edwardsville or the Alzheimer's Association .
