In Loving Memory of
Mary Macek, nee Korilko, 100, of Maryville, Ill., born September 12, 1916 in Hartshorme, Okla., died at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab, Edwardsville, Ill.
Mary operated the Madison Theater for many years with her husband and worked at Schermers Garden Shop in Madison, Ill. She also was a Madison Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Macek, whom she married on July 23, 1937 in St. Charles, Mo., who passed away on January 25, 1973; father, Louis Korilko; mother, Eva, nee Wansick, Korilko; son, Donald Maceck; sisters, Rose McGovern and Catherine Hart; and brothers, John and Louis Korilko.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael (Becky) Macek of Maryville, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Leoma Macek of Osage Beach, Mo.; grandchildren, David, Timothy, and Jeffrey Macek, Jared and Derek DeRosier and Melissa Guthrie; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many cousins; nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions to Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Madison, Ill. and Heartland Hospice.
Visitation: Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 23, 2017 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City. Panihkida Service at 7 p.m. at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City.
Services: Funeral at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at Nativity of Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in Madison, Ill. with Fr. Nicholas Finley officiating. Burial at Nativity of Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Edwardsville.
