Michael A. Holmes Sr

Michael A. Holmes Sr. passed away 01/04/2025. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all those whose lives he touched.

Born 12/30/1965, Mike was the son of the late Laura Wright and Aaron Holmes Sr. He is survived by his two sons, Michael A. Holmes Jr. and Justin Smith; his lifetime friend Joyce Smith, his sister, Kathy Holtsford, and her husband, James Hidy ; and his brothers, Frank Holmes, and his wife Doris Holmes and Aaron Holmes Jr “Buddy”. Grandchildren Bradley Holmes, Haley Smith, Bentley Smith and August Holmes. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was born in St.Louis, Missouri but raised in Madison, Illinois.

Mike was a devoted family man who cherished time with his loved ones. He was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, and brought joy and laughter to all those around him. An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved exploring nature and found peace and tranquility in the great outdoors. His humor, love of family, and passion for the outdoors will be deeply missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curtis Holmes.

Services will be held at Thomas Saksa funeral home 01/16/2025. 2-4 pm.
