In Loving Memory of
Ruth Ann Ladd

Ruth Ann Ladd (nee Thomas), age 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at her home in Marine, Illinois.

She was born Ruth Ann Thomas on December 6, 1936 in Granite City, Illinois to the late George Edward and Mabel Bessie (Harrison) Thomas.

She married Leo John Levora, Jr. on February 9, 1957, who preceded her in death in July 1963. She married Jack Frederick Ladd on April 20, 1966 in Edwardsville, Illinois who preceded her in death in November 2002.

Surviving are: Children Theresa Levora of Marine, Leo Levora of Peoria, Frank (Brenda) Ladd of Fruita, Colorado, Thomas (Sharon) Ladd of Springfield, Missouri, Jacqueline Ladd of Troy, Melissa (Chris) Bingham of Troy, and Amanda Ladd of Springfield. Grandchildren Holly Livingston, Skyler (Danielle) Ladd, Shaunna (John) Wilsky, Jonathan (Amber) Ladd, Walter Ladd, and Mitch Ladd. Great Grandchildren Hailey, Hunter, Jacob, Addison, Rylee, and Wyatt. Sisters in law Lena Thomas and Molly Rowland. Nephews and Nieces George (Vicki) Thomas, Ramona (Mark) Worley, Brad Thomas, Mike Kershaw, Greg (Sandy) Kershaw, Mark (Bambi) Kershaw, Ann (Kevin) Halbe, Brian (Stephanie) Kershaw, Jeanne (John) Smith, and Jane (Don) Williams.

Loved ones beside Leo and Jack preceding Ruth in death are stepdaughter Jennifer Hartke, brother Harrison Thomas, sister-in-law Virginia Kershaw, and brother-in-law Gerald Kershaw.

Ruth worked while raising five teenagers to obtain her master's degree in Speech Communication at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, all while maintaining the Dean’s list. She was a longtime Speech and Language Therapist for Livingston, Worden, and Edwardsville schools, and a member of the Retired Teachers Society and Illinois Speech Language Hearing Association (ISHA).

Ruth enjoyed reading, traveling the West, and being with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

At her request, Ruth will be cremated, and an open house was held on Sunday March 14th for family members and close friends in Marine in lieu of a memorial service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Metro East Humane Society.
