Sally J. Weakley, age 68, of Edwardsville, died at 5:58 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at her residence.
She was born March 22, 1948, in Sullivan, the daughter of the late Herman and Lillie Delonay Thompson.
She married Carl Weakley on July 3, 1967, in Paris, Ill. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children: Douglas (Heather) Weakley of Edwardsville, Stacy Weakley of Glen Carbon and Samantha (Kevin) Price of Greenwood, Ind.; grandchildren: Max, Simon, Noah and Benjamin Weakley and Alexandra and Ethan Price; brothers Bill (wife Babe) Thompson of Gainsville, Fla., Joe (wife Marsha) Thompson of Sullivan and Pat (wife Marci) of Sullivan; one sister: Diana Lane of
Sullivan and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Weakley taught at Columbus and Leclaire elementary schools. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Edwardsville, Council Member of Job's Daughters Bethel 72 of Edwardsville and was a Girl Scout leader. She received her bachelor's degree in education in 1988 from SIUE.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Saksa-Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at McMullin and Young Funeral Home in Sullivan with Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Edwardsville.
